About Gavin Tollman
Gavin Tollman is a leader in the travel and tourism business. He was born in South Africa, currently lives in Geneva, Switzerland and has experience across the globe including a degree in finance from The American University in the US and experience managing boutique hotels in Palm Beach, Florida and London.
Gavin Tollman is currently the Chief Executive Officer of Trafalgar Tours, a company that offers first-class guided tours to a plethora of worldwide destinations. Trafalgar Tours is an expert in the travel industry and Tollman has held leadership positions within the group since 1997. Prior to being named head of the company in May 2010, Gavin Tollman was Global Head of Sales from 2003 to 2009, in charge of the sales, marketing, and product delivery department and responsible for development and operations. He also organized an internal restructuring of the group. From 1997 to 2001, Tollman was President of the tour operator and lead Trafalgar USA to become the America's foremost leader in European tours, expanding the organization to include tours to Hawaii, Australia, New Zealand, Asia, South America and more. Without forgoing the tour company's consistent quality and reliability, he led the team that introduced ground-breaking new choices in travel and various new products. Through Trafalgar Tours, Gavin Tollman has developed an expertise and elevated his efforts in the travel business, but he's also keen on using those skills to develop and promote global tourism in South Africa. He values his position as Chairman of The Travel Corporation’s South African office, the privately-owned international enterprise that represents tour companies like Trafalgar Tours, which allows him to focus on his commitment to South Africa, while he oversees the company's global web strategies and identifies business opportunities that would help the corporation. To make this commitment known, Tollman recently headed the 2010 Travel Corporation Global Conference in South Africa, which was designed as a gathering for over 350 of the company's business leaders seeking new ways to upgrade the quality of the Corporation's travel activities and make an impact on the global tourism platform. Gavin Tollman has made efforts to give back to the region where he was born. During the Global Conference in October, his goal was to create a business impact and a social impact. To do so, he led a group of TTC employees as they built Wendy Houses for disadvantaged families in towns surrounding Cape Town. Twenty one small four-wall houses were built and provided shelter for families who needed them. The project, aptly titled Project Wendy House, made an emotional impact on those families in need. Gavin Tollman's hobbies include film, tennis, music, fitness, and yoga. |
